GAMMA SHIPYARD, UPDATE N. 5
Hi all, lovely people. After a while, fighting aagainst the usual daily routines, I am back.
Little by little, i am going on with my building.
The interiors of the technical area and cockpit have been covered with 12 layers of a water based laquer (solvents are too bad for my lungs); the hull, hopefully, is now completely finished, fully planked and the first accessories (cooling inlet and outlet pipes, connectors, pulleys, cables) have been fixed in place; i suppose it could be difficult to do it at a later stage.
The bottom was covered with a thin, the thinnest available on the market, fiber glass cloth (do not ask the mat, it was an old piece of cloth i had at home since a very long time) lightly impregnated with epoxy resin and sanded.
This solution was necessary for two purposes...first of all to hide (after painting the bottom only at the final stage) the brown sanding lines as other did (probably i had a too "heavy hand), the second purpose was to make the bow and the bottom stronger; impacts against floating pieces of wood are quite common here and I i do not want to rescue my Maybellene badly demaged if these occur.
Well, for those who do not like to read too much I have some pics, hope you like
That's all again, thank you for watching
see you soon, lovely people...ciao
