Ich wollte mal eine kleine Liste mit Motoren zeigen.
Die Motoren habe ich mit dem SkyRC Motor Analyzer gemessen.

Natürlich ist die Liste nicht vollständig und die gemessenen Werte können auch bei anderen Motoren durchaus unterschiedlich ausfallen.
Es soll eine Übersicht sein. Wer noch Daten für andere Motoren hat, bitte hier posten.

Is it possible that you make this measurements for your inrunners too, that where to heavy and broke your flexshaft?

Heico, NIEMALS full Speed aus dem Stand, das killt jede Welle! Ich hatte auch das Problem, dass ich nach wenigen Startversuchen die Welle kaputt hatte. Mittlweile fahre ich seeeehr lange ohne Schaden

Bei mir sind die Wellen gerissen bei folgenden Events:

- Nach 3-5 Runden auf der Geraden beschleunigt (Full Throttle)
- nach der Kurve moderat beschleunigt bis Vollgas
- Bei Halbgas beschleunigt bis Vollgas (schnell)

Den Regler hatte ich immer auf Standard (Startpunch 3 von 5) stehen.
Selbst bei Startpunch 1 (low Gas) gab es Abrisse.
Seitdem ich die Outrunner wieder fahre, kein Wellenabriss mehr. (Startpunch wieder auf 3)

Die Inrunner die ich drauf hatte waren alle über 1200 Watt !
Die Outrunner sind so bei 400 bis 600 Watt.

That is helpfull informatie Heico! I would only advise to stay away from the 27mm props. These cant get the power into the water, to little grip, no mater how many rpm you put into them. It is like putting a big 300hp SUV on 135mm wide tires, no way you can get the power to the road.

The bigger the Prop, the better the grip, and overall efficiency benefits greatly. All my boats are now on 36mm props. Even the small and agile Jupier.

I also started with 32mm props because of alledged torque issues with bigger props, but that is not so much the case as everyone thinks. (So if you do need 32mm props, i have some of the good bronze ons for sale if interest arises. Sharpened and balanced))

Furthermore on the bronken shaft issue: sharp accelleration is harmfull, as is high load with vegitation or debris in the Prop. But the major cause is the smal radius the shaft has to run in on the tfl mini. If the slack is not dailed in exactly right it might just last one race. Or just not... The radius on the mini is on the minimum a 3.2mm flexshaft can handle. And we like to run them at 25-30.000 rpm. They dont like that combination at all!

Once you make the radius just a little bit bigger it dramaticly reduces the risk of braking. 12 to 15 mm more is already sufficient.

Guys like me can't make these things happen, i would need a mechanic to make such an Outboard with a better radius.

Maybe you can do a small series of Outboards ?

Self built is the anwser, but also the bigger TFL, for the bigger VX boats is a good choice.

The mini is on itself OK, it has sort of become the 152VO general outboard for a reason! Replacing the Teflon tube with a brass 4x5mm tube helps a lot, and dailing in the play on the propshaft to only 0,3 to max 0,5mm dous the rest.
